What to Expect When You Visit
What does a typical service look like? Will I fit in? I wonder what I should wear. I don’t want to embarrass myself. Do you have questions? We want you to feel welcome and comfortable when you visit. - What is the Sunday morning worship service like?
Our Sunday service is at 11:00AM, features a blended worship experience of hymns, newer songs, prayer, Scripture readings and a relevant Bible-based message. Worship at Lomax is a dynamic and joyful experience led by the Holy Spirit. We are not limited by the program but fully led by the Spirit of God. Our ministry of music will lift you physically and spiritually. We have several choirs under the guidance of a gifted music staff who are always prepared to minister.
- What can I expect during worship?
At Lomax our congregation is free to express our joy and love for God as the bible prescribes and our Lord desires. You will be blessed by the preached word because at Lomax we have seven of the finest preachers in Zion!
- What to expect as first time visitor?
We want to make sure you feel welcome and simply enjoy yourself during services! We will ask visitors, who feel comfortable, to please stand and give name and church home (if they have one), as the Pastor and his ministers officially welcome you. You will begin to feel the love of Lomax AME Zion. Now is the time to greet and enjoy as our choir sings the Welcome song to you.
- What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in. People who attend Lomax AME Zion wear everything from business suits to jeans. Feel free to dress as you see fit!
- What about my kids?
We love children at Lomax AME Zion! Children are encouraged to join the congregation. Currently We do not have children’s program for 2-12 year old.
- Are you going to ask me for money?
No. Two collections: First one is missionary offering. The second is tithing and offering you are welcome to participate during the offering time but you are by no means obligated.
- Where do I park?
We want you to make it to church on time so we made sure that parking will not hinder you from getting to church if you arrive early you will be able fine spaces in our parking lot. There is limited parking in the lot behind the Education Center. There is additional parking on side Education Center.
- What time are your worship services?
We offer one worship service on Sundays at 11:00 a.m. Sunday school for youth begins at 9:30 a.m. in the Education Center.
