About Lomax

Our Story
Lomax A.M.E. Zion Church was founded in 1866 by [Founder Name] with a vision to brief founding vision — “bring the Gospel to the heart of our community”. For 160years, we have been a place of worship, healing, and belonging for families in Arlington, VA./Green Valley.
From humble beginnings in 1922 ,  2704 South 24th Road , we have grown into a congregation of 80 members who are passionate about serving God and serving others.

Meet Our Leadership

Pastor:Rev. Dr. Adrian V. Nelson II

Reverend Doctor Adrian V. Nelson, II was appointed to the Lomax A.M.E. Zion Church in May 2018. In addition to serving as a pastor, Dr. Nelson serves the denomination in a number of other capacities: Editor for the AME Zion Church Department of Church School Literature; Chief of Protocol for the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal District, and within the Philadelphia and Baltimore Conference; Chair of the Board of Examiners; Chair of the Board of Lay Activities; and, as a member of the Conference Board of Trustees.
