What to Expect When You Visit
What does a typical service look like? Will I fit in? I wonder what I should wear. I don’t want to embarrass myself. Do you have questions? We want you to feel welcome and comfortable when you visit. • What is the Sunday morning worship service like?
Our Sunday service is at 11:00AM, features a blended worship experience of hymns, newer songs, prayer, Scripture readings and a relevant Bible-based message. Worship at Lomax is a dynamic and joyful experience led by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God fully leads us. Our ministry of music will lift you physically and spiritually. We have choirs under the guidance of a gifted music staff who are always prepared to minister.
• What can I expect during worship?
At Lomax, our congregation is free to express our joy and love for God as the Bible prescribes and our Lord desires. Worshiper will enjoy the preached word. Lomax has five of the finest preachers in Zion!
• What to expect as first-time visitor?
Our Ushers will greet you! We want to make sure you feel welcome and simply enjoy yourself during services! You will begin to feel the love of Lomax AME Zion.
• What should I wear?
Whatever you feel comfortable in. People who attend AME Zion wear everything from business suits to jeans. Feel free to dress as you see fit but keep in mind you are representing God!
• What about my kids?
We love children at Lomax AME Zion! Children will remain with their family in the sanctuary. We have programs for 2-12 years old. Please inquire.
• Are you going to ask me for money?
Offering Time: You are welcome to participate as you are able, but you are by no means obligated. The Ushers have an envelope that explains the giving categories.
• Where do I park?
If you arrive early, you will be able find spaces in our parking lot behind the church. There are Handicap spaces as well.
• What time are your worship services?
There is one Worship Service on Sundays at 11:00 A.M.- in person and live stream. Sunday School for all ages begins at 9:30 A.M. on Zoom.
